Going for a Wawa

Not a whole  lot happening apart from the cold.... another 8 inches of snow and more cold so I thought it was about time I introduced some fine New Jersey traditions

The Wawa
A Wawa is actuaļly a native American name for a wild Goose which gave it's name to a town in Pennsylvania where the company first started. Like a lot of things in Eastern Pennysilvania, the Eagles and the Flyers to name but two, the stores spread East into the south of New Jersey and became endemic .
One might say "I am going for a Wawa" in much the same way as one might say "I am going for a Greggs" The fare is different but just as people know you will have returned from Greggs with a pastry product or a cake, people will know you have returned from Wawa with a drink and a hoagie.
Drink.... any one of about a dozen different coffees dispensed from huge heated urns, a soda machine for coke, 7up and the like milkshakes, freeze drinks........
Hoagie .... We would probably call it a sub roll.... you key in what you want in yours and pay for the ticket that gets issued, usually by the time you have got tour coffee and paid for them The Hoagie is ready. This is the result, a whole $6.18

The raving cold continues

Yep thats -17C - I did say it was chilly.
